Bealtaine will bring the world of music to older people
MUSICAL Memories is a series of concerts bringing music to communities of older people in County Louth during the Bealtaine Festival of 2018.
Funded by CreateLouth, the Arts Service of Louth County Council, “Musical Memoires” brings professional musicians from the concert stage into local care settings, hospitals, nursing homes and senior citizens clubs.
The programme will include popular classical pieces and Old Time favourite ballads and songs. It is planned so as to bring music into more intimate environments, allowing each resident and service user to experience live music in their familiar surroundings.
The Musical Memories Ensemble, featuring Gráinne Hope - Cello, Brendan McCreanor- Uilleann Pipes, and Liam Merriman - Voice/Guitar, will bring a programme of specially selected music into six settings throughout Louth in May.
Concerts will take place in Ardee Daycare Centre, and St Peter’s Nursing Home, Castlebellingham. This year, concerts take place from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd of May.
