NA PIARSAIGH SEAN MCDERMOTTS 0-13 2-6

NA Piarsaigh kept themselves in contention for league honours when they held on to defeat Sean McDermotts by a point in and exciting and entertaini­ng ancounter at Mountrush on Friday night.

The Dundalk side had the better of the first half and by the half time whistle sounded they had built up a quite commanding 0-7 to 0-2 advantage.

The McDermotts battled their way back into the game with goals from Tony Kelly and Emmet Duffy but in the end Na Piarsaigh did just enough to hold on for a what was a probably a deserved victory.

The win keeps the Dundalk men in contention at the top of the table, two points behind leaders St Kevin’s and Dundalk Young Ireland, but crucially with a game on hand on both.
