WOLFE TONES DOWDALLSHILL 2-13 1-9

WOLFE Tones picked up their second win of the Division 3 campaign when they defeated Dowdallshill at home on Friday night.

Goals either side of the break proved the difference for the hosts and the result leaves the Dundalk men still searching for their first win of the season.

The teams were well-matched throughout the game but the Tones scored the only goal of the half through Gideon Lugoye to lead by 1-6 to 0-6 at the break.

It was a similar story in the second half as Dowdallshill fought to stay in contention. Coming towards full-time, the visitors were just two points in arrears thanks to a Luke O’Brien goal, but a second Tones goal from Patrick Fanning put paid to any chance of a comeback victory by adding a goal and two points to complete their win.
