Busy weekend for Dunleer AC

DUNLEER AC had a very busy weekend, with action at four venues.

On Friday evening Darragh Greene followed up his Drogheda 10km victory the previous weekend with a win in the Cooley Coastal Run and a new course record of 31:28.

Meanwhile, at the Lourdes Stadium, Dunleer AC juveniles were in action, with Aeyla Orr starring in the high jump and Liene Kaugare doing likewise in the javelin.

Other medallists for Dunleer AC were Lily Jordan, Karlis Kaugars, Matthew Fitzpatric­k and Edward Mc Entee.

On Saturday Garry Campbell and Jack Boylan competed in the British Milers 800m in Manchester, with a season’s best for Garry of 1:53.77 and a personal best Jack of 1:55.11.

The juveniles were out in force at Bush on Saturday and Sunday, with medals won by Ciara Reilly, Erinn Leavy, Sam O’Neill, Dáire Mathews, Cliodhna Reilly, Conor Brennan, Conor Matthews, Finn Reilly, Aibhe Reilly, Anthony Dillon, Beth Kearns, Lana Hanratty, Danielle Brennan, Lucy Sheridan, Jill for Torris, Seán Mc Evoy, Tadgh Reilly, Jamie O’Brien, Declan Mc Entee, Róisín Torris, Grace Fitzpatric­k, Aeyla Orr, Maeve Eakin, Juliette Meegan, Patrick Farrell, Karlis Kaugars and Joe O’Brien.

Earlier in the week, Nicola Welsh had a great third-place finish in the Leinster 3K Road Race in Gowran on bank holiday Monday, coming home in a time of 11:09.
