Repeal the 8th Amendment and gates of hell will be opened

-

Dear Sir,

It’s an easy decision from where I come from. As one of the 78% who describe themselves as Catholic in the last census , plus the other Christian denominations, there is an overwhelming majority of Christians in this country. Yes, I will admit it I am not the best Catholic, but none the less deep deep down its faith of our fathers ,it’s a belief system forged over many centuries of oppression penal laws and now the ultimate challenge - the liberal agenda .

To murder innocent babies in the womb is wrong full stop . In this pluralist dictatorship we will soon not allowed to mention God but I’m sure he will not be pleased .

It puts Our Lord’s temptation in the desert into perspective . The current political elites are generally assumed to be Christian democratic , all the parties of the left are overtly or clandestinely anti Christian over time and history this has been proved time and time again . Yet subtlely over time the centre parties have lost their belief systems and are ashamed of their Christian heritage and thus they betray it . Yes they tempt us with compassion and trust and of course hard cases make poor law .

With repeal of the 8th, the gates of hell will be opened no doubt. Do I trust our politicians - absolutely not. Look at how they govern us for their own benefit, never accepting blame for the mismanagement of health housing or law and order .Think of the 8th Amendment of the constitution as the dam protecting the unborn from the pagan secular and populist political class .

As the old order of Christian political class fades away the new Political class is liberal and atheist and has no religion or belief system other than callow populism. Our politicians are led by the nose by a journalistic dogma ,totally in favour of destruction of our culture faith traditions on the altar of left wing liberal populism .

If you are a pagan atheist or believe in no God then we are nothing more than intelligent animals and the liquidation of innocent children in the womb is merely an aspect of health care and a cosmetic convience. The arrogance and power of the pro removal of the Eight by a supportive media will win the day .

But perhaps as we Christians all dwell on our own mortality and the end we all face sooner or later ,perhaps when called upon to look into your soul as you vote be under no illusion that 8 million babies have been liquidated and sucked out of mothers across the water in what was to have been a very restrictive regime . Don’t think for one second that any of the smiling politicians saying vote yes will not produce legislation in the future that will be as bad or worse as we see all over the world .

Finally the 2013 legislation put down on paper what has always existed in practice ,that a woman will always receive necessary medical intervention if there is a risk to her life even if that means terminating the pregnancy .The risk does not have to be immediate or inevitable.

There is no need to remove the 8th amendment . We do not have to sell our souls so cheaply let the 80% plus christians strike a blow for life and the unborn and Christian Ireland. Yours, Peter Monahan, Mornington, Drogheda.
