EMFRU

In a recent edition of the Meath coaster it identified areas that have got defibrillators.

It mentions Pat’s in Bettystown, Harry’s Centra in Mornington in, also one at the entrance to Dolphins Montessori in Inse Bay Laytown and one at the entrance to Grange Rath estate at Colpe cross. There are also two more in situ for quite a while which has not been mentioned, there is one at the front entrance of the Alverno hotel in Laytown and another at the Lime Kiln in Julianstown.

That is six defibs which is available to the public at all times. Out of those six defibrillators, five have been put in place by the East Meath First Responder Unit. (E.M.F.R.U). Members of the unit worked very hard to achieve this number, having gone out in all weathers in door to door collections, to gather sufficient funds, they also held functions, and church gate collections. Herculean work has been carried out by E.M.F.R.U to achieve this

figure, and the good news is that plans are afoot to deliver more defibs for other local areas.
