COLLON BOWLS CLUB

The Fr. Felix McGuckin perpetual Trophy took place recently. There were four groups, the winner of each group was as follows. Dermot McKenna, Paul Carrie, Philip Carolan and Michael O’Neill. The draw was then made for the semi-final. D. McKenna v P. Carolan and P. Carrie v M. O’Neill. Both semi- finals produced some very good Bowls and went down to the last end. D. McKenna winning over P. Carolan and M. O’Neill over P. Carrie. A very good final was set up and did not disappoint. D. McKenna v M. O’Neill over 11 ends. It went down to the very last end all square, 9 ends each with M. O’Neill coming home at the very end with the best final ever played. A very deserving winner Michael was speechless. The chairman Tommy Bannon thanked all who took part in the competition. The Club President Eileen then presented the trophy to Michael.

The Club sympathised with Jim Harmon on the death of his brother who died in England and remains taken home. May he rest in peace.
