James and Liam cycle to France

-

YOU’VE all heard that funny song “Get up off that saddle, Stephen” written by humorist Dermot Morgan to celebrate Stephen Roche’s win in the Tour de France.

Well two Drogheda men might have reason to be saddle sore and weary in a couple of weeks time are James McDonnell from Ballsgrove and Liam Bennett, Painestown, who are taking off on a 1,000 kilometre trip in France.

They are to cycle from Le Havre to the shrine at Lourdes — and it’s all in aid of the Drogheda branch of the Cystic Fibrosis Association. James told us this week that they expect to be collecting sponsorship from all those interested in supporting fundraising for CF — and they are many. Telecom expects to give them a big boost in their efforts.
