Barrs in seventh heaven

NAOMH FIONNBARRA ROCHE EMMETS 7-15 1-18

NAOMH Fionnbarra came out on top in an amazing game at John Markey Park on Friday evening that saw the teams produce an aggregate score of 57 points.

After suffering two successive defeats the home side got back to winning ways in some style as the fired in seven goals, five of which came in a hectic first half.

The first arrived after just four minutes from Mairtin Murphy and was followed soon after by a second from Darren McConnon.

Barry O’Hare wasfine form at the other end and he led the Roche revival as they hit back to level the game.

Further goals from William Wood, Conor Osborne and McConnon again made it to 5-5 to 0-13 at the break.

Shortly after the restart Woods added his second goal of the game and after the teams traded points sub Jack Kearney made his senior debut and scored a goal with his first touch.

Dan O’Connell scored a consolation goal for the Faughart men but the defeat means they remain at the foot of the table.
