Top gig in Droichead

THERE are quite a few top gigs listed for this summer around Drogheda - but can any match the Droichead Arts Centre on Saturday July 14.

The exceptional Carolan brothers, Gene, Stephen and James will perform live with former Voice of Ireland winner Pat Byrne and local soul and pop artist Saoirse.

The Carolan Brothers need little introduction at this stage - true craftsmen, they are a distinctive and unique combination of harmonies.

They will have some classics on the night and a selection of original material written by Pat Byrne and the brothers.

Pat Byrne can sing the Blues with the best of them and he has - not surprisingly - been put in the mould of Joe Cocker.

Pat is currently based in Austin, Texas, where he is recording his second studio album and tours in the US.

Saoirse Kavanagh’s music has been influenced by the sounds of artists like Jessie Ware, Lianne La Havas and Joss Stone to name a few. She released her debut single ‘Strong’ in March .

Niamh Kavanagh’s Illegals in concert

The Illegals are taking their unique Rumours of Hotel California show on the road for another turn in 2018 to celebrate two classic rock albums from two iconic rock bands.

Led by Niamh Kavanagh, she of the mesmerizing voice and mischievous spirit, The Illegals will take you on a journey for three hours of soulful harmonies, exciting riffs, blistering guitars and unforgettable songs. Songs like “Gold Dust Woman”, “Last Resort”, “Go Your Own Way”, “Life In The Fast Lane”, “Dreams”, “New Kid In Town”, “The Chain” and “Hotel California” – and many more.

They play the Droichead Arts Centre on Friday 29th June at 8pm.

Campbell dance
