John Kirk of Clogherhead

THE 100th anniversary is approaching of Clogherhead sailor John Kirk, who died on August 27, 1918.

John, born on December 26, 1889 was in the Royal Naval Reserve in WWI and is listed as ‘died from disease’ while serving on HMS Victory.

He is buried in the Royal Naval Cemetery, Haslar, Gosport, Hampshire and his father was John, from Harbour Road, Clogherhead.
