Our own Sean Kenny is the Shipley pigeon master

-

I HAD a great few words with Sean Kenny recently on a visit home.

He is a Pearse Park native but you’d hardly know that from his accent - it’s Yorkshire true and true.

Sean said he left Drogheda when he was 15 and has spent a lifetime in England.

He says he loves Shipley and although Drogheda might be nice for a visit, it’s not really home anymore. ‘It’s gotten too big,’ he stated, having taken a tour of the town.

Sean spent many years in the building trade in Yorkshire and one of his great loves is now racing pigeons.

He has won a good number of cups and trophies and we managed to get a picture of him with the silverware.
