DUDALK GAELS

THIS is a big week for our adult teams. The juniors will be out to preserve an unbeaten Division 4 league run this evening, travelling the short distance to take on Clan na Gael. Then on Friday evening, the seniors are at home to Sean O’Mahony’s in a crucial Cardinal O’Donnell tie. Members are urged to get along to both matches and lend much needed support.

The lotto takes place after this evening’s match, and players will be trying for the €12,900 jackpot. Tickets can be purchased at Grant’s Newsagents, Dublin Street, or from any committee member.

The numbers drawn in last week’s draw were 19, 20, 21, 30. Two match-3 winners, Fr Padraig Keenan and Peter Murphy.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Paddy Cheshire, Point Road, who died last week. Paddy played for the club in the 1950s until injury cut short a very promising career. He also played with the county, winning a Leinster senior championship medal in 1957. His son, Paul, acted as our team physio recently.

In more recent times Paddy was associated with the Sean O’Mahony’s club.

Best wishes to Gerad McSorley in Louth’s All-Ireland qualifier with London in Ruislip.
