Clinical Rowe keeps Syddan in the driving seat

SYDDAN ST MICHAEL’S 2-18 0-13

THE Syddan bubble shows no sign of bursting after they continued their unbeaten league run at home last Wednesday evening to maintain the four-point lead over the chasing pack.

The home side made a tentative start and found themselves 0-7 to 0-8 in arrears at half-time. However, they totally dominated from the restart, quickly establishi­ng a lead that they didn’t relinquish and ending convincing winners.

Daire Rowe (free) and Paddy Farrelly had Syddan off the mark in the early stages before successive points from Shane McCormack (two), Oran Meehan and Paddy Clarke left St Michael’s leading 0-4 to 0-2 on 11 minutes.

Rowe, from play, reduced the deficit, but St Michael’s maintained their lead until efforts from Sean Clare and Brian Dillon had the sides level on 17 minutes.

The visitors regained the initiative towards the end of the half and led by two before Rowe’s TUESDAY JUNE 5
