Charity benefits from Greenhills tournament

THERE was a great turnout of Greenhills members for the club presentati­on last Tuesday night as chairman Jack Howell welcomed the Alzheimer’s charity chairman Noel Heeney and secretary Ann Short to the club.

Jack Howell represente­d the winner Peter Woods and presented a cheque of €500 from Greenhills to Noel Heeney.

Noel thanked Peter for choosing the charity and added it will be a great help to their new facility. He also thanked the club for their generosity and their hospitalit­y on the night and wished the club the best of bowling in the new season ahead.

The summer league doubles will be held on June 14th at 8.30pm sharp when the draw will take place for partners. All members are encouraged to enter the competitio­n, which will run over 10 weeks. The best eight scores will count and the matches will be played over seven ends under IIBA rules.

Juvenile practice switches to Thursday 7-8.15pm, with seniors afterwards from 8.1510.30pm.

Five winners NUMBERS drawn in last week’s Seneschals­town GAA Club lotto for a jackpot of €1,500 were 8, 18, 23, 28 and the five €25 winners were Joe Healy, Martin McGuirk, Darren Caffery, Dominik Lara and Martin Gorman.
