Lundon calls the shots for Ardee club
ARDEE & District AC all-rounder Michael Lundon produced an inspired performance at Morton Stadium when battling his way to a third-place finish at the National Combined Events Championship.
Competing in the Over-40s Pentathlon competition - which features the long jump, shot putt, high jump, 1500m and 110m hurdles - Lundon’s determination, patience and experience helped him achieve two new personal bests along the way to that coveted bronze medal.
Lundon, who qualified for the Nationals by winning silver at the Leinster Combined Events, finished second in the hurdles event with a PB of 20.51sec and produced a spectacular finish to win the 1500m in another personal best of 5:00.49.
On hand for the presentation was Louth’s own Georgina Drumm, president of Athletics Ireland.
