10K SEASIDE RUN.

As per every other year, there was a great turnout for the Race on Sunday last. The weather was fairly good and even the rain didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of all present. 1st Female Catherina McKiernan Annalee AC. 2nd Female Karen McCrystal North East Runners. 3rd Female Rachel McCormack Drogheda & District AC. 1st Male Gary O’Hanlon, Cloniffe Harriers. 2nd Male Darragh Greene, Dunleer AC. 3rd Male Stephen Kelly, Drogheda & District AC. All other category results 40+, 50+, 60+, 70+ are up on Clogherhea­d Seaside 10K Facebook. Sincere thanks to all who took part on the day and especially all who helped out over the day and the next cleaning up.

ANNUAL BEACH CLEAN-UP.

The clean-up will take place Saturday morning next 9th June stating at 10 a.m. at the Lifeboat Station. Please come along and give a hand, all equipment will be supplied. Thank you.

IRISH MARITIME FESTIVAL

This popular festival will be held over two days Saturday June 16th & Sunday June 17th on the river Boyne and on Drogheda’s historic quays. There will be something to suit all tastes. WALKING TOURS OF MEDIEVAL DROGHEDA.

Tours conducted by the staff of Drogheda Museum Millmount will recommence from May 8th at 2 pm daily, Mondays to Fridays. The tours start at The Tholsel and where the guides will speak about the foundation of the town and the history of the Tholsel before heading off with tales and informatio­n on Rosemary Lane, The Highlanes Gallery, The former Drogheda Grammar School, Whitworth Hall, Featherbed Lane, St Laurence’s Gate, the Drogheda connection to the inventor of the submarine, famous residents of the William Street area, St John’s Home, St Peter’s Church of Ireland and Churchyard, Clarke’s Pub, Magdalene Tower, Millmount, Frank Thornton , the foundation of Dunnes Stores finishing up At St Peter’s Church and St Oliver Plunkett’s Shrine .Cost is €5 for adults concession­s for children and seniors. TOGHER CHAEROBICS.

Carmel’s Chaerobics Exercise Classes “Sit and get fit” as broadcast on LMFM, has recommence­d in Tullydonne­ll School Hall every Tuesdays 7.30 – 8.30pm. Classes are €8 nightly or €40 for 6 nights. WOULD YOUR CHILD LIKE A PARTY?

The latest craze is the All Weather Pitch in Clogherhea­d. It costs only €20 for 1 hour and after the hour you can continue the party there on the pitch or go to the Community Hall where they can run around having great fun in secure, friendly and safe surroundin­gs for only €30 per hour. And then they just flake out with tiredness, happy but tired.
