THANKS AND THE BEST OF LUCK FINTAN.
Drumshallon Forge Heritage Centre committee wish every good health and happiness to Fintan Harmon who retired from his position at The Forge on Friday last, 25th May. Fintan was a great ambassitor for The Forge over the two years that he worked there. He also kept the grounds immaculate. No job was ever too big of too small for Fintan . He was kept very busy setting up for the various classes and events that take place in this very busy center. He is going to be badly missed by everybody.
All at The Forge wonder who is going to fill his big shoes, but like Daniel O Donnell’s house, the kettle is always on the boil so, hopefully Fintan won’t be a stranger and drop for regular visits on a regular basis.
HEALTH AND WELLBEING LAUNCH.
Every community group and organisation are invited to participate at a health and wellbeing launch in Naomh Mairtin’s Pavilion on Saturday next, June 9th, from 1pm to 5pm. Indeed, everybody in Monasterboice are asked to come along and meet the above mentioned groups/organisations, be it dancing, OAPS, Music, Children, Cultural, Sports, Hobbies, Tourism, Health or Activities.
A Community Garda will give a talk on the day and there will be a free mobile health check van on site from 12 to 4pm.
All welcome and there is no charge.
GREENHILLS CANP
Summer Sports Camp will take place this year for two weeks: July 9th – 13th& July 16th – 20th. They have a wide variety of activities including The Rodeo Bull Ride & The Wipeout Game, which have been very popular in recent years. Book online at greenhillssummercamp.ie or by post. INFORMATION EVENINGS..
The Drogheda branch of the ISPCC is recruiting for it’s Childline service and the next training course is due to start at the end of September. They recruit volunteers from all over the Louth and Meath area and are eager to add to its fantastic team. They are currently recruiting volunteers for Monday and Tuesday afternoons. The first step in becoming a volunteer is to attend an information evening (on one of a choice of evenings). This is an opportunity for people to come along and hear about the service, and what is involved in volunteering. They would also have a chance to hear from an already active volunteer. Evenings scheduled are Monday 18th and Wednesday 20th June.
All sessions will begin at 6.30pm, and anyone interested is invited to attend. They will be held at it’s office in Drogheda (Distillery House, Dyer Street, Drogheda, Co Louth). These sessions are geared towards younger traditional musicians (ages 7 to 17) who can play some tunes, and would like an opportunity to play music in a fun and relaxed, family-friendly environment.
Sessions are hosted by a family of three local musicians Áine, Bríd & Mick Dunne and are free of charge.
