Alzheimer group in Relish cafe

THE Drogheda Alzheimer support group monthly Memory Cafe takes place at the usual venue, Relish Cafe on Laurence Street, from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, June 12.

And a date to remember for next month’s Memory Cafe at Relish, again from 6 to 8pm, is Tuesday, July 10.

That will be a special event, when leading RTE presenter and former CNN anchor, Fionnuala Sweeney, speaks on Alzheimer’s.

Fionnuala has a special interest in dementia and Alzheimer’s and is particularly interested in finding ways of early detection. She points out that 4,000 additional people every year are suffering from these two diseases. Ms Sweeney is keen to spread the word on trying to find ways of helping victims and their families.

The top personality will be remembered by many for presenting the Eurovision Song Contest from Mill Street in 1993.

She currently presents the current affairs programme, The Late Debate, on Thursday nights.

As always, admission to the Memory Cafe is free and all are welcome.
