‘Skuller’ Leech was another of the great local performers

-

I WAS at the unveiling of the wonderful plaque honouring legends of the panto, Joe Cluskey, Joe Caffrey and Jimmy Fagan in the Barbican recently.

It was a fitting night for three funny men.

But it was also great to see that Declan Power and the crew have an image up of Paddy ‘Skuller’ Leech (right) and fitting that is too.

He was part of the Crazy Gang with Joe Caffrey and Jimmy Fagan and always appeared in a long moth-eaten fur coat similar to the one worn by Bud Flanagan of the same named gang in the London Palladium. Jimmy was always the ‘straight man’, just as Allen was to Flanagan, while Joe was always ‘a girl’.
