COOLEY KICKHAMS ST BRIDES 0-15 1-8

COOLEY edged this close encounter at Pairc an Chuinnigh on Friday night to leapfrog St. Brides in the Division 1 League table.

The first half was a close affair with the visitors going in at the break two points to the good with the scoreboard reading 0-7 to 0-5.

After the restart Kickhams edged ahead to leave three between the sides on 46 minutes and seemed to be well in control.

However, against the run of play Aaron Devin volleyed to the net after a ‘Garryowen’ was fumbled by the Cooley custodian.

Two quick-fire minors within 60 seconds steadied the ship for the peninsula men before a further brace from Michael Rafferty left four between the sides.

A late brace from Aaron Hoey reduced the deficit to two points with full time fast approaching. In added time Rafferty slotted over a free to leave ‘The Reds’ needing a goal to snatch a draw.

However as hard as they tried time ran out for the home side and Cooley held out for victory.
