Glyde secure crucial victory

-

GLYDE RANGERS ST FECHINS 0-14 0-13

A late point from Gareth Moran helped Glyde Rangers earn a crucial victory in their battle to escape the relegation zone.

The game at Beaulieu saw very little between the teams throughout the game but it was the visitors who were 0-7 to 0-6 ahead at half time.

The teams traded points throughout the second half before Moran landed the crucial score. In the dying moments St Fechins had a chance to level the game but an effort from a free drifted wide of the post.

The victory moves Glyde on to six points in the table and now four clear of bottom side Roche Emmets with two games to play.

GLYDE RANGERS: David Brennan; Fiachra Sheridan, Cein Sheridan, Conor McCullough; Alan Brennan, Mark O’Brien, Paul Noone; Brian Duffy 0-2, David Devaney 0-3; Aaron Devlin, Conor Sheridan, Trevor O’Brien 0-4; Niall Sharkey 0-3, Gareth Moran 0-2, Kevin Moran. Sub: Lar O’Brien for K Moran.
