Saints nick first point

ST NICHOLAS SEAN MCDERMOTT 3-6 0-15

ST NICHOLAS earned their first point of the season after a tough but entertaining draw with the Sean McDermotts.

The home team started well but Seans slowly reeled them back in to take the lead.

However, a Paddy Murtagh goal and a free from Philip Kirwan left it level at the break, at 1-3 to 0-6.

The visitors raced out of the blocks for the second half adding four unanswered points, but with ten minutes left on the clock Barry Woods found the back of the net to get the Nicks back into the game. Seans didn’t let the goal affect their play and continued adding points to extend their lead to three.

A goal from Adrian Gates brought St Nicholas level. A late free by the McDermotts left them one up and it fell to Kevin Walsh to level up for the Nicks at the end.
