Kevins keep pressure on

-

ST KEVINS WOLFE TONES 1-19 0-6

ST Kevins moved level with Young Irelands and Na Piarsaigh at the top of Division 3 with this victory at home to Wolfe Tones.

Although there were 16 points between the teams at the final whistle that doesn’t tell the full story of a game that saw the Drogheda side very much in contention until the third quarter.

There was little to choose between the teams throughout and after trading scores for much of the first half it was the Kevins who held a slender 0-7 to 0-6 lead at half time.

However, the Philipstown men stepped up the pace in the second period and a goal from Shane Meade inside ten minutes proved the inspiration as they went on to record a comfortable win.
