NAOMH MALACHI DOWDALLSHILL 2-11 0-11

A goal and three points either side of half time set the Malachis up for this six-point victory over a spirited ‘Hill side, on another perfect evening for football at St Brigid’s Park.

With five minutes to go in the first half the hosts held sway by 0-5 to 0-3 thanks mainly to the boot of talisman Noel Finnegan.

However, they were left ruing two missed goal opportunities, and were made pay the price when the Mals kicked three points before half time and added a goal just after the restart.

Three points in succession from Finnegan kept the ‘Hill in touch, but the Mals sealed the win with four successive points before adding their second goal of the game.
