Furze inspired by Finnegan

SENESCHALSTOWN BALLINABRACKEY 2-15 1-11

A CONTRIBUTION of 2-6 from Cathal Finnegan made Seneschalstown’s long journey to Ballinabrackey worthwhile as they came away with the points.

Both goals came in the opening half and gave Seneschalstown a 2-7 to 0-4 cushion at half-time. As well as setting up Finnegan for the opening goal, Bryan Clarke contributed three points in the half.

The home side had the better of the exchanges throughout the second half, but they left themselves with too much leeway to make up.

The Yellow Furze men found scored a little more difficult to come by, but with Finnegan (five further points), Brian Sheridan, Bryan Clarke and sub Ryan O’Dowd also on target they kept the scoreboard ticking over. SENESCHALSTOWN: David Gordon; Cormac Duffy, Dylan Doyle, Mark Fox; Niall Groome, Joe Cowley, Ronan Conneely; Niall Hickey 0-1, Robert Ruddy; Bryan Clarke 0-3, Sean Noonan, Brendan Lynch 0-1; Cathal Finnegan 2-6, Brian Sheridan 0-3, Robert Wogan. Subs: Edward Meade for Wogan, Ryan O’Dowd 0-1 for Conneely, Eoin Finnegan for Noonan.

?? ?? With his goalkeeper way out of position, Rathkenny’s Ross Gore makes a fantastic save from close range to stop Stephen Nolan putting a goal on the board for Duleek-Bellewtown.
