MR. TERRY COLLIER

Very sad news this week to learn that Terry Collier from Laytown has died. A lovely gentle man who was committed to his family. He was a founder member of Laytown P & P club and worked tirelessly over the years for the club.

He was a scratch player himself and much respected in the game all over the country. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Vicky, sons David and Niall, his twin sister Teresa, daughter in law, son in law, brothers in laws, sisters in law, extended family and many many friends. DUNLEER REMEMBERS CAMERON MARY ROSE RAFFERTY AND FRIENDS

As I sit in a playground the community built, I watch a young boy, on the nest swing he sits.

This young boy helped build a dream to have this place where children beam, with Laughter, fun, and frivolity.

Every day we watched this boy and others grow, he smiles and gives a shy, yet warm “Hello”

Everyone local knows the playground was no easy task., and the committee set up to get it built; well, let’s just say we were sometimes met with negativity.

But every time I was feeling low seeing Cameron appreciated it so, made every bit worthwhile.

One day while sitting and watching my son Declan who has ASD play, A Boy mocked hurtfully at something Dec had just done.

Looking at him quite upset, rising from the nest swing Cameron did appear, to go straight over to hug him and check he was ok.

While Declan may not have appreciated that moment, it has stuck with me still. This one act of many kindnesses from a boy so young,

I knew he was destined to be a fine young man and so he became. You will be remembered always as the sweetest and kindest young gentleman one could have the pleasure to meet.

What can be said that hasn’t already been said when it comes to Cameron, his life cut short has affected every single person in our town and way-way beyond, everything that has been said about Cameron is a testament to just how great a young man he was. Deepest Condolances to the Glass and Reilly family and their extended family and friends.

Although I never knew you, nor ever met you. You did the impossible. You made a community come together to show their love and respect for you and your family.

You will not be remembered for your death. But for your happy charm, bright smile, and your kind heart. Your memory lives on in the parish of Dunleer and in our hearts.

You will never be forgotten and will be loved always.

A million times I thought of you, a million times I cried. If love could have saved you, you never would have died.

You were everybody’s friend young and old I remember you calling to my house years ago and if Jake wasn’t there you would end up playing with Erin she was a lot younger than you but that didn’t matter, as I said everyone’s friend and the whole community are devastated by your passing RIP x.

You were a lovely lad who would never pass me by without saying hello. Thinking of your family in this sad time.

The most bubbly and gentlest of souls . Will never forget you. Love and miss you alway.

You have been taken away far too soon, your death has affected every one of us in the Dunleer community. Your life had touched so many of us which proves just what a young gentleman you were. RIP.

One of the funniest and friendliest lads anyone would be proud to call a friend x.

You always knew how to put a smile on my face and your smile so big and bright will never be forgotten. Will cherish your friendship always.
