FILE TO BE PREPARED FOR THE DPP IN CAMERON MURDER HUNT

Dunleer is now the ‘saddest, loneliest village in Ireland’

- Cameron Reilly and right, Dunleer, a changed place...

GARDAI hunting the killer or killers of Dunleer teenager Cameron Reilly are preparing a file on the investigation that will be forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

It follows a first arrest in the case last week.

A youth was arrested at his home in Dunleer on Friday morning last and taken to Drogheda Garda Station. He was quizzed about the murder of the Beechwood Drive man on May 26th last.

He was released without charge on Saturday afternoon with gardai confirming a file on the matter will be forwarded to the DPP, who will then decide on the next course of action.

Meanwhile, a social media page, set up to offer support to Cameron’s family, have said that they received information at the weekend which has been passed on to tbe gardai.

Justice For Cameron reported, ‘a member of the public met me over the weekend with information. This information, I believe, is significant and I have already passed it on to the Gardai. Sincerest thanks to this person for deciding to step out of the darkness. This person has just contacted me this morning (Monday) saying that last night was their first night’s sleep in three weeks.

The page has attracted a lot of attention since it was set up and a vigil march has been suggested to continue to highlight the hunt for the murderer.

Comments have come from far and wide, with one remarking, ‘ have been in Dunleer three times since Cameron lost his life, and I have to say it’s the saddest, loneliest village in Ireland, It’s so sad to see a village with no young people out enjoying each others company on the beautiful summer evenings that have been,. Young people of Dunleer, this is your village, this is your home please stand together and speak up, you cannot remain in hiding for the rest of your lives,. Please go talk to somebody and see that justice is done.

Gardai say that investigations into the murder are continuing.

Last week, they reported officers from Drogheda, Dundalk and Ardee were working on 400 tasks in relation to the incident that has cast a dark cloud over the town.
