THE Three-Lady Waltz Open Team Event, generously sponsored again this year by Gift & Art Gallery took place on Monday of last week, with results as follows:

1st Carmel McCarthy, Mary Wilkinson and Barbara Maher (both Edmonstown GC) 72; 2nd Nora Gormley, Ann Connor and Odile Glynn 70; 3rd Rosemary Hanratty, Siobhan O’Hagan and Marie McAnallen 69.

Thursday Open Day winner: Marie McAnallen 34pts.

Despite testing conditions on Saturday good scores were returned in the first round of the Special competitio­n. Carmel McCarthy leads the way on 73 nett with Antoinette Shields in hot pursuit on 74. Two shots back on 75 are Clodagh McCarthy and Ailish McCartan while Pat Cluskey and Anne McParland are on 76. Second round next Saturday. BRS opens for booking Wednesday at 7pm.

Good luck to Mary P. Kirk and Dean Mulligan who travel to Rockmount GC on Tuesday to compete in the regional finals of the R & A 9 Hole Championsh­ip.

THE Monthly Medal sponsored by T.W. McKitteric­k Electrical Contractor­s Limited was won by Eamon Campbell playing off 16. Eamon carded a fine score of 81 gross, which means, that the next time he tees up, he will be playing off 14.

Second place went to Peter Sloan with a gross of 89 playing off 22 and Peter has lost a shot with third place going to Kevin Coleman grossing 86 off 19, also got cut a shot for his effort. The gross prize goes to Shane Corr playing off 3 with a nett score of 69. The SUPER Thursday Open Week 5 sponsored by GoGolfworl­dwide.com was definitely the round of two halves with 15 points on the front nine and an amazing back nine with 25 points. When the final whistle was blown Michael Gallagher had won by two points with Kyle Rafferty in second place and two points further back was Oisin Conroy. Result: 1st Michael Gallagher 40 pts, 2nd Kyle Rafferty 38 pts, 3rd Oisin Conroy 36pts.

It has only been a few weeks since Frances was in the winner’s enclosure, after losing a couple of shots, she had no problem playing off her new handicap, winning the monthly medal sponsored by Elle Rose Boutique with a nett 71, with Rita O’Loughlin placing second with a nett 72. Result: 1st Frances Byrne (24) 71 nett, 2nd Rita O’Loughlin (17) 72 nett.

SEAPOINT would like to congratula­te Joanne Cooney on finishing third in the Leinster Strokeplay in Gowran on Sunday.

There will be no club competitio­n this week due to Channonroc­k hosting their Open Scotch Foursomes. That starts on Thursday and runs through to Sunday.

Please check the entry board for entry sheets, especially the Ladies Club Strokeplay on Friday June 29th, the Club Singles Matchplay starting on July 9th and Gents Club Strokeplay on September 16th.

The draw for the Club Doubles Matchplay is on the website and on the noticeboar­d in the clubhouse.

The 2018 Summer Camp dates are from Monday July 9th to Friday 13th and applicatio­n Forms are in the clubhouse. On August 25th and 26th Seapoint Pitch & Putt will host the Irish Life PPUI Irish Internatio­nal Pitch & Putt Open.
