CHILDREN’S GARDEN

The Children’s Garden at Teach Raithneach is up and running for a new gardening season. This Group meet every Wednesday evening from 7.30 to 8.30 pm. STRATEGIC COMMUNITY ACCESS HUBS

Teach Raithneach has been identified as one of a number of Community facilities that would be suitable as a Community Access Hub for the local Community where there is currently poor or no Broadband. This could bring benefits to the local Community, and is being pursued at present.

SUMMER ART CAMP

Places are booking up fast. Following our very successful Art Camp last year, dates for this year are 2nd-6th July & 9th-13th July. We cover a wide variety of art projects for boys and girls aged 512. Cost €65. Contact Teresa 086 3212986 or Sharon 086 8603427.

BROOMFIELD FESTIVAL EVENTS - THIS WEEK

The Festival commences on this Thursday 21st June with a Drug Awareness Presentati­on and Discussion. On Friday 22nd its the Tir na n-Og Active Retirement Social evening, music, song and craic! On Saturday 23rd there’s a Nature Walk at 10 am, starting and finishing at Teach Raithneach, followed at 12 noon to 4 pm by a Car Boot Sale, Vintage Cars, Children’s Dog Show, Bouncy Castle and lots more, all at Teach Raithneach. On Sunday 24th there’ a ‘ Walk for all Ages at 12 noon, starting ‘at Teach Raithneach, this will be followed at 4.30 pm by the Cross Road Ceili, at Grangegeet­h Cross, music will be provided by the ever popular Tara Ceili Band. The Festival concludes with a Cookery Demonstrat­ion on Thursday 28th June, presented by Tara Walker of Radio and TV fame. There will be an Art and Crafts Exhibition in Teach Raithneach from 21st to 24th June. Lots of things happening for young and old. All welcome

The Work Programme involves Care-taking duties in and around Teach Raithneach, as well as the maintenanc­e and up-keep of a number of amenities throughout the District. These allow you to self-refer to Meath Partnershi­p, the body who have responsibi­lity for implementi­ng the TUS Scheme in this area.

Thanks to everyone who is making an effort to have Broomfield & District looking its best. A special thanks to those who have taken the time to trim roadside verges, which has improved sight lines considerab­le at a number of locations. Community Volunteers are the back-bone of our area, and Irish society in general. Government Department­s and Statutory Agencies would do well do recognise this, and give greater support to those in society who make an effort. Mile buiochas to those in our District who are making an effort and a difference.

ISPCC

BROOMFIELD & DISTRICT WALKING GROUP

Broomfield and District Residents Associatio­n Walking Group have resumed their Tuesday evening walks 7 - 8 pm and will continue until September 2018. These are flat road, and off-road walks by lakes, rivers, and woodland. Male and female walkers of all walking abilities welcome to participat­e. There is a registrati­on fee applies. Sunday walks continue all year round, 12 noon- 1 pm.
