Man robbed at knifepoint in Mell

-

A man was left badly shaken after being robbed at knifepoint by three men at a petrol station on the outskirts of Drogheda.

The incident took place on Sunday afternoon shortly after 2pm, in what has been described as a “brazen, daylight robbery”.

The man had just withdrawn a sum of cash from the ATM inside the Circle K garage (formerly Topaz) at Mell, when he was called over by three men sitting in a black car parked in front of the garage.

They attempted to sell him a mobile phone, and when he refused, they threatened him with a knife and stole the sum of cash from him.

The car is thought to be a black Renault Scenic with a partial registration number 07 MH, which left the location at speed following the robbery.

There is no description of the men available, or in which direction they drove off following the frightening incident. The victim was treated for shock. Gardai are appealing for witnesses to this audacious crime, and if anyone saw this car at the garage sometime around 2.15pm or leaving the area at Mell or Trinity Street at speed, to contact them at Drogheda Garda Station on 041 9874200 as soon as possible.
