Time to get your entry in for the Song for Drogheda

-

ENTRIES are currently being received for the Song for Drogheda contest, with over 6 in the running so far, according to organiser, Mayor Frank Godfrey.

The song, which should reflect Drogheda’s heritage and the fact that the Fleadh Cheoil is taking place in this historic city in August, should have original lyrics and melody.

‘I am looking for a Song for Drogheda – a song we can be proud of,’ said Mayor Godfrey. ‘We would love to see a few more entries, so get writing and get recording and send it on!’

Entries on CD can be submitted to Frank’s Country Cottage, Donore, County Meath. Judging takes place in July, with a live concert to select the winner in mid-July.
