Sense and Sensibility at Oldbridge House

-

THE Droichead Arts Centre invites you to the beautiful grounds of the Battle of the Boyne Estate, Oldbridge, as Chapterhouse Theatre Company take to the stage with their annual open air theatre, which has become a real highlight of the summer social calender.

This year the stage is set for two wonderful productions, the literary classic ‘Sense and Sensibility’ on Saturday 30th June and the family favourite ‘Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland’ on Saturday 21st July. They encourage audiences to bring along a rug and a picnic before being whisked away by the magic of theatre on a summer evening.

The events are eagerly anticipated each year and this year they expect a high demand for tickets so the advice is to book early to avoid disappointment.

Sense & Sensibility charts the romantic antics of sisters Elinor and Marianne Dashwood as they fall in love, make mistakes and experience heartbreak for the first time.

Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a timeless classic with a whole host of colourful characters. From the unforgettable White Rabbit and the madcap Mad Hatter to the terrifying Queen of Hearts, Alice’s journey couldn’t be filled with more adventure. Presented in beautiful Victorian costume and alive with song, dance and original music, this is a production to delight the entire family.

Recommended arrival time is 5.30pm to allow you to get parked and to find a picnic space. The event will go ahead rain or shine. Please bring your own rugs or low back seating only, and do consider the weather when dressing for the event.
