Mayor thanks volunteers

-

Mayor Frank Godfrey praised Drogheda’s volunteers who have been busy with the Maritime Festival, as well as many on- going community-led clean-up operations. He also thanked those who have signed up as volunteers for the upcoming Fleadh Cheoil in August.

With thousands expected to attend the Fleadh in Drogheda, Mayor Godfrey is asking businesses to do some DIY and to upgrade their premises to have Drogheda looking its best in August. ‘I’m asking businesses to put out flowers and hanging baskets, keep their business premises clean, and to hang out bunting the week of the Fleadh.’

Mayor Godfrey called for a united front from the business and local community. ‘It’s important that we have a cohesive approach to the Fleadh to make sure that the town is looking its best!’

He also called for a major operation to be carried out on the buildings in Narrow West Street
