STAG’S HEAD SOCIETY

ON the 30th of June the Stag’s Head is hosting the Annual Stag’s Head Open (Daniel Carberry Memorial Shield).

It’s the biggest independently run darts competition in the area and continues to gain support from a lot of Counties year after year.

1st run in 2011, it was won that year by a familiar face on the local darts scene , Paddy Kearney, and the trophy was dedicated to his nephew Daniel Carberry who had recently passed away at a young age.

In the 7 years that it’s been played for the quality of darts on show has always been top class and this is reflected in the fact that no player has as yet retained their title or even reclaimed their title.

The winners of the competition include one of the brightest prospects in Irish Darts, Keane Barry who won the event 3 years ago aged just 12.

It has also been won by PDC Tour Card Holder Ray Campbell, also “The Wigan Sting” Graham Unwin, the ever youthful Raymie Carroll and not forgetting Kieran O’Neill & Shane Pearson, all of whom are well known in local darting circles and are always a force to be reckoned with.

This year’s event takes place in the Stag’s Head on Saturday 30th of June with registration for the event closing at 1 pm on the

day & the 1st of the games due to start by 2pm.

Pre-registration is available by contacting the Stag’s Head.

Entry fee is €10.
