DROGHEDA pool ace Cormac Kerr is on top of the world again.

The gifted 18-year-old has just secured the World Under 23 8 Ball pool title.

Competing in the finals in Blackpool against the best 64 players in the world, he saw off last year’s runner up in the first round by 6-3.

He then made his way right to the final where he met the reigning European under 23 champion, Jack Smithers.

And he stormed to an 8-4 win.

Cormac is the reigning European and World under 18 title holder.

He practices four or five days a week and up to five hours a day.

‘Potters, Jojo Murphy in the Mariner, Noel Carter at NVM Ltd have all been great to me, as well as family and friends,’ Cormac stays.

He has dreams of making it onto the pro scene in the future but for the moment is looking no further than the Europeans in Killarney, which is the next ‘major’ on the international circuit.

‘ The tour has finished for the year now,’ he added.
