Still some rooms required

-

THE Accommodation Sub- Committee for Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann have been working hard to find a bed for everyone coming to Drogheda in August.

One of the big traditions of the Fleadh is that people rent out their houses (or rooms in their house) to Fleadh visitors. Over the last few months, local people have offered their houses up for rent and Fleadh goers have been busy booking.

The job is nearly done … but not quite.

Committee Chairman Eddie Phelan explains “We’ve been bowled over by the kindness and generosity of local people, wanting to get involved in the Fleadh. We’ve had offers of houses from all over Drogheda and as far afield as Skerries, Trim and Carlingford. The demand for houses will only increase in these final few weeks and we still need more.”

He continues “Ideally, Fleadh goers are looking for houses within walking distance of Drogheda town centre so that they can enjoy all that the Fleadh has to offer. We are appealing for anyone who has a house or a room that they might consider renting out for dates between 12th – 23rd August to get in touch with us. You can call the Fleadh Office on 041 9876111 or find out more by visiting the accommodation section on www. FleadhCheoil.ie”

Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann is the largest global celebration of Irish music, language, song and dance, expected to attract over 350,000 visitors in the course of just one week. It takes place in Drogheda from 12-19th August
