DROGHEDA UNITED BOHEMIANS 0 3

TWO late Bohemians goals gave the scoreline a flattering look from their point of view as Drogheda United Under-19s were left to rue missed scoring opportunities on Sunday afternoon.

In what was an evenly contested match overall, the Drogs defence dealt very well with the visitors’ initial attacking play, while goalkeeper Malachy Doyle returned from injury and was cool under pressure.

Newcomer Levi Boardman looked good with Jordan Adeyemo up front and a foul on the latter in the 36th minute earned the Drogs a free kick in a good position. However, the set piece came to nothing and Bohs swept up the field on the right-hand side and a brilliant header from a great cross saw them take the lead.

At the start of the second half the Drogs strove for the equaliser and Sean Cronin made a great break up the middle and saw his great shot go agonisingly wide.

In a great attack on 75 minutes Adeyemo found himself clear a few yards out, but he delayed his shot too long and it was saved.

As time began to run out the Drogs conceded two late goals and were left to reflect on what might have been.
