Bench warrant is issued

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Daniel Stevenson (24) to face sentence on a number of charges stemming from an incident when he attempted to get away from the guards.

The defendant, of Ballsgrove, Drogheda, was summonsed for driving without reasonable consideration, no insurance, failing to stop for a garda and other charges at Hazel Lane on 8 June, 2017.

It was stated in evidence that a garda drugs patrol attempted to stop a Volkswagen Passat driven by Stevenson. The siren and lights on an unmarked vehicle were activated.

He failed to stop, then abandoned the car before trying to get away on foot.

Stevenson was disqualified from driving at the time.
