Retelling the Wizard of Oz in a deadly manner!
“TOTO, I’ve got a feeling we’re not in Dundalk anymore…”
The classic tale of there being no place like home is getting an imaginative reboot by a Co Louth theatre company, as Quintessence Theatre presents “The Deadly Wizard of Oz.”
In an Irish reimagining of L. Frank Baum’s American classic, Dorothy is a moody social-media-addled teen of 21st century Louth, transported to a strange land with no Google Map or MyTaxi to save her.
Written and directed by Anna Simpson, with Paul Hayes as executive producer, this much-loved American classic is given a comic modern Irish twist in a brand new outdoor, interactive adaption that will delight audiences of all ages.
Performances will take place on the beautiful grounds of Anaverna House, Ravensdale, Dundalk at 1pm, 3pm, 5pm on 18th-22nd July, and 7pm on the 21st July.
The stellar local cast will include Drogheda actor Anthony Kinahan, Leah Rossiter, Amy Kellett and Anna Simpson. After all: there’s no place like home!
Tickets priced €15/€8 are available on www.tain.ie or on 942 9332332.
