Get ready for the Debs

-

YOU’VE attended your last class, said goodbye to your last teacher and waved farewell to your dreaded school uniform.

But as you close your maths book for the last time, you’re also finishing a chapter in an important part of your life. All except for one thing; your debs! Yes even though school might be out for summer, you still have to get ready for that one last blow-out with your schoolmates.

Preparing for your debs ball is still a massive deal, and for the girls, there is often a checklist as long as Kim Kardashian’s hair extensions before the big night.

What to wear is often the biggest challenge, so start gathering ideas for your dress from magazines, Pinterest, online shops etc as soon as you can. Start this process at least a month or two before your debs because it’s very unlikely you’ll find the perfect dress the first time. There are also some great shops now that rent debs dresses, so consider if this might also be an option for you.

The lads have it a little easier, as they often just have to shower, get a haircut, and hire a suit, but liaise with your partner to find out if you have to match! It won’t go down well on the night if you clash in more ways than one!

Have a trial run of hair, make-up and the dress a few days before to make sure you are happy. And above all, wear a smile! It’s a great night, and it gets very serious from now on...
