Cable Project v The Guards for Hannah!

-

THE gloves are off this time, as one of the most competitive soccer matches in Drogheda takes place this weekend!

The CABLE & Boyne Garda Diversion Projects are once again combining forces to take on the Drogheda Garda station in the annual charity fundraiser in United Park.

After three defeats in a row, the lads of the Moneymore project are gearing up for a serious showdown!

“We won the first year in 2013, but unfortunately in last year’s match, the Gardai managed to hold onto the trophy, so the Projects team this year are looking to bring it back to its rightful place,” says Allen O’Donoghue from the CABLE Project.

“The project lads are raring to go. They’re determined to win this year and raise as much money as they can!” And every cent raised will go to a great causem which this year is Hannah ‘ The Warrior Princess’ Donnelly.

Hannah was born with a rare genetic condition called Apert Syndrome and the brave teenager from Newfield went in to hospital for spinal surgery in March 2017 walking and talkin. Complications arose, and following an emergency tracheotomy, became paralysed from myophady and polyneuropathy.

Hannah remains in Temple Street hospital at present, but desperately wants to go home where she will need round the clock care with house adaptations.

The event is in United Park this Saturday 28th July at 3pm.

It is free in and there will be have a bucket collection on the day, but if you can’t make it contact Bronagh on 0864641756 to make donations.
