The attack on the Belfast home of Louth Sinn Fein TD Gerry Adams has been condemned by members of Louth County Council. Councillor­s passed a motion extending ‘solidarity to all families, including the families of Louth TD Gerry Adams and senior Sinn Fein activist Bobby Storey, whose homes were attacked with explosive devices on Friday night’.The motion called for ‘calm and reiterate that those involved in these attacks in west Belfast or exploiting young people in the Bogside in Derry or those engaged in poisoning the atmosphere in east Belfast would desist from these reprehensi­ble anti-community actions and explain their rationale.’

Cllr Ruairi O Mhurchu had tabled an emergency motion in relation to the attacks on the homes of Deputy Adams and Mr Storey, but it was amended to include all families on the suggested of Cllr Richie Culhane,
