Garden party raises €1,700

- By ALISON COMYN

A pleasant afternoon in a beautiful local garden has raised an amazing €1,700 for the Drogheda Hospice Homecare and Our Lady’s Hospice in Harold’s Cross.

Ann Humpreys from Termonfeckin threw open the gates to her spacious and colourful garden last weekend, and with a view to raising a few euro for these vital services.

However, she was shocked at how generous the community was to the cause!

‘About 70 people turned up and we had a lovely few hours in glorious sunshine, while raising a lot of money for these two charities,’ Said Ann.

‘We were so lucky with the weather and my flowers are looking great thanks to Owen Kierans from Forgefield and local Tom Maguire being able to water them with recycled water.’

Ann would like to thank everyone who was so generous with their support and says the money will make a huge difference to both organisations.

‘We were able to donate €850 to the local hospice group and the rest to Harold’s Cross, and it shows just how wonderful the community in Termonfeckin and Drogheda is when it comes to supporting charity,’ she concludes.
