New Ladybirds seek members

THE summer months are flying by and looking ahead to September, why not get your young daughter involved in a new and exciting hobby?

Drogheda Girl Guides is starting a new Ladybird Guide unit in Scholes Lane in September 2018 and is looking for new members.

Ladybirds range in age from 5 to 7 years and follow a threeyear programme designed to help each girl learn about herself and the world around her through games, activities and badges.

“Girls develop a positive self-image, are introduced to Guiding values and learn how to play and work well with others,” explains

“We also have places available in Brownie Guides for girls aged 7 to 10 years.”

Brownies follow a three-year programme full of adventure and challenge, while discoverin­g new things about themselves and the world they live in.

Activities aim to develop independen­ce, team-building and problem-solving skills while promoting inclusion and empathy.

The Irish Girl Guides have been in Drogheda for almost 50 years.

It offers exciting programmes for girls and young women aged 5-30, and opportunit­ies for women of all ages.

Members take part in a wide range of activities that enable them to gain self-confidence, learn new skills, develop teamwork skills, make new friends, gain new experience­s and most importantl­y have fun! Contact 083 4358062 for more.
