Bro Ryan OP and his ‘Linen Hall Dash’

-

NOT TOO many people might remember the remarkable cocker spaniel “Linen Hall Dash,” owned and bred by Rev. Bro. Andrew Ryan, O.P., Drogheda.

80 years ago, the dog won two first prizes at Navan Dog Show and also won two cups at the same fixture and was declared the finest specimen of the breed at the Show. “Linen Hall Dash” in addition to the two 1st prizes, he dog was awarded the Moatland Cup and the Durhamstown Perpetual Challenge Cup as well as the Green Star and the Dog Show Association’s Diploma for the best cocker at the top rated show.

I’m sure Bro Ryan had some more winners in his time in Drogheda

Bro. Andrew Ryan was one of the best known breeders of cocker spaniels in Ireland, and had been appointed judge of the breed at various shows in Dublin and Belfast.
