Drogheda Credit Union Fleadh sessions a bit hit

-

The Drogheda Credit Union has been hosting a series of Fleadh Sessions near their Drogheda branch in Laurence Street, to get people in the mood for the main event in August.

Everyone who owns an instrument, can hold a tune, or even tap a toe was welcome. “We were delighted that 15 musicians came to play on the day, including uileann piper Darragh Ó Héiligh and some other Music at the Gate musicians, a few young musicians from Comhaltas and some musicians from the monthly Slow Sessions at the Droichead Arts Centre, also sponsored by Drogheda Credit Union,” says Brona O’Reilly from the Drogheda Credit Union. The weather was great and the new mobile Izmoo ice cream van was on site to keep everyone cool. Credit Union beanbags were a bit hit for people to lounge in whilst enjoying the music and Flowers at the Gate added great tree log seating, all added to the atmosphere. Laurence Centre had free face painting on the day too so was a family affair.”

Keep an eye on the Drogheda Credit Union facebook page for date of the next Fleadh Fun Session.
