St Mochta’s Hunterstown

- JOHN SAVAGE

ST Mochta’s recovered from a nervy start to cruise into the quarter-finals at Hunterstown Rovers’ expense in the curtain-raiser at Ardee on Sunday.

The Louth Village outfit fell 0-4 to 0-1 behind before finding their rhythm, but once they hit the front in the 20th minute they didn’t look back.

St Fechin’s 100 per cent finish in Group A ensured this was a winner-takes-all showdown and that perhaps played on St Mochta’s minds a little bit in the opening quarter.

Ryan Burns and the impressive Stephen McCooey traded early points, but Rovers seized the initiative
