Camp brings down curtain on season
DROGHEDA School of Karate’s Annual 3-Day Summer Camp was held at the Special Olympics Club recently and once again proved a great success.
The programme of events covered many aspects of Wado-Ryu Karate-do and there were three Kata categories contested, with great competitiveness throughout the three days.
Cat A was won by Carla Kierans, with Ahmed Gebao second, the one-two in Category B was Dearbhaile Nulty and Kaiya Nulty and in ‘C’ Joseph Floyd edged out Padraig McCabe. Games took place also and were won by Paul Kierans, Dylan Ryan, Joseph Shields, Caolan Nulty, Kaiya Nulty, Joseph Floyd and Dearbhaile Nulty.
A presentation was made by Joseph Floyd on behalf of the management committee and students to chief instructor Philip Nulty to mark his 70th birthday.
The school will be taking its annual summer holiday after training next Tuesday (31st).
