MANNAN LADIES

LAST Wednesday week Mannan Castle ladies were all pretty in pink, showing their support for Breast Cancer Research Fourball.

In all, 18 teams turned up and it was the team of Noreen Murphy (29) and Frances Perkins (24) who picked up first prize with 46 points. Second place went to Bridie Fitzmauric­e (24) and Frances Byrne (24) with 43 points, with the gross going to Gill Rouiller (11) and Karen Forrester (11) with 30 points.

THERE will be a juvenile competitio­n today (Tuesday) at 11am and also a Summer Evening Sweepstake Singles competitio­n this evening, with the draw at 6.15 sharp for play at 6.30pm.

It has been decided to cancel this year’s Club Singles Matchplay. The next round of the Club Doubles Matchplay must be completed by August 12th. Please check the club noticeboar­d for all entry sheet.

Congratula­tions to all Seapoint members who competed in the Leinster Under-16 Strokeplay in Seapoint last weekend, especially to Sarah Cooney who finished second in the girls section. Also congratula­tions go to Eoin Murphy who finished second, his brother Luke who finished third and Oisin Mulryne who came fourth in the boys section. The winner was Evan Carry from Castletown who retained his title.

Seapoint Pitch & Putt Club are delighted to announce that Noelene Bedford has been selected for the Irish ladies team and Luke Murphy selected for the Irish U-16 team to face Catalonia in an internatio­nal match to be held in Seapoint on Tuesday August 28th. The best of luck to you both.
